You will need to have internet for emails. The organisation will provide a mobile phone, for work use only. Much of the work will involve telephone contact with both clients and volunteers, so great communication skills are a must.

Key responsibilities: • To confirm daily phone calls to clients by liaising with their volunteers on a day to day basis • Document and report confirmation of all calls made to Coordinator • Make 1 pre-activation call to client if a volunteer reports a ‘no answer’. Notify Coordinator if the pre-activation call is unanswered. • Follow up with volunteer, and call client directly in accordance with procedures if an assigned volunteer hasn’t confirmed their call by the designated time. • Call client directly in accordance with procedures if a volunteer reports that they are unable to make calls – volunteer is on holiday, volunteer is ill etc. • Report any issues or concerns, relating to the client or service to the Coordinator. • Inform Coordinator when unavailable for duty so that backup arrangements are made • Provide the first point of contact for all the volunteers in their assigned group • Ensure adherence to service procedures • Attend organisational orientation, training and volunteer meetings as required

Skills needed: • Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people, particularly by telephone • Volunteer liaison officers (VLOs) will have volunteers reporting to them on a day to day basis. VLOs will confirm that daily calls are made by their assigned volunteers and complete associated reporting processes. VLOs will work between 7.50 and 9.30 am each day.
