A much loved and well known charity is seeking Volunteers to assist in supporting and providing information to anyone affected by cancer. They are the only organisation that works across every area of every cancer, conducting and funding world-class research that underpins their work across the cancer journey.

About The Role:

  • Direct cancer patients, carers and their families to appropriate cancer information, resources and services
  • Input interactional data on provided tablet
  • Stocktake and ordering of resources and materials
  • Uniform and identification badge provided
  • Volunteers are needed for one full, or half, day per week, between 8am and 3pm approx
  • Full day training provided
  • To ensure the best Volunteer experience, a 12 month commitment is required

Volunteer Qualities:

  • Excellent communicator with exceptional listening skills
  • Flexible approach to helping others and a non-judgemental attitude
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, cancer support services
  • Ability to use a tablet or computer to record information
  • A demonstrated understanding of confidentiality
  • Willingness to attend all provided training and debriefing sessions
  • Agree to undertake a Criminal History Record check and Working With Children Check
  • Must be willing to undergo vaccinations for specific conditions, as per Department of Health staff policy
  • The ability to speak another language advantageous, but not essential
