Do you have knowledge of early childhood needs? Are you interested in gardening, music, art or crafts? Do you want to support culturally and linguistically diverse women and children? Are you a warm and patient character? Are you proficient in Arabic, Farsi, Nepali, Hindi, Mandarin?

If you answered yes to the above questions, then we have the role for you!

The Friendship Garden welcomes newly arrived migrants, refugees, people seeking asylum, and multicultural communities that may not have access to a garden in their home. The Friendship Garden Playgroup has been established, in partnership with Playgroup NSW, to support families, from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds who have pre-school aged children. As a volunteer you will be asked to: • Support the facilitator to connect families with each other • Support the facilitator with activities, such as water and Lego play, planting, arts & crafts • Assist with organising and serving refreshments to participants • Assist with set up and pack up of resources • Provide language support for clients in a relevant language (as required)

Volunteers need to be available on Wednesdays 9.30 am – 12:30 pm at Auburn Centre for Community, 44A Macquarie Road, Auburn on a weekly basis for a six month commitment.
