Friendship Garden Volunteer - Thursdays
Settlement Services InternationalAre you a keen gardener? Do you enjoy working outside with your hands? Are you interested in working with refugees, migrants and people seeking asylum?
If you answered yes, to these questions, then we have an opportunity for you!
The Friendship Garden welcomes newly arrived migrants, refugees, people seeking asylum, and CALD communities that may not have access to a garden in their home. As a volunteer you may be asked to: • Assist gardeners with setting up and packing away garden tools and equipment • Participate in gardening activities includes but not limited to planting, watering, mulching, weeding, composting and harvesting • Assist gardeners with preparing lunch and morning tea for the day • Support gardeners with keeping the environment clean, tidy and hazard free • Participate in community garden workshops and excursions (optional)
Volunteers will need to be available on Thursdays 9.30 am to 1 pm at Auburn Centre for Community.
