The CCOEI have up to 2 vacancies on the Board of Management and are seeking volunteers for these positions. The Board assist in applying for grants, coordinating events such as forums and workshops to address gaps and barriers for migrants and refugees settling in the Eastern Region of Melbourne. Coordination of Migrant Settlement Committee meetings is a core objective. Other objectives are:

  • To provide a forum in which workers from local settlement service agencies (and related agencies) can discuss settlement service issues
  • To encourage settlement service agencies to work collaboratively by proposing strategies, and to plan for effective service improvements

Members have provided feedback that committee members work really well together, they come onto the Board and stay for many years as it is a very enjoyable role. Dates of meetings are chosen by the Board to suit as many members as possible. Meetings take place during daylight hours in one of the meeting rooms on Level 1, 79 Mahoney's Road, Forest Hill VIC 3131. During CoVid restrictions meetings are on Zoom. All Board positions are spilled each year at the Annual General Meeting. In total there are 4 Executive positions, 6 portfolio positions and 2 general positions. Vacancies are varied and can include a role suited to the skills of the applicant. The Annual General Meeting for 2020 is on the 20th November. Only paid up members may nominate for positions on the Board. (Individual membership is $15 per annum). Mentoring is put in place to help new members of the Board settle into their roles. Meetings are usually held in the morning. We encourage members to network and connect getting to know each other better. We prefer volunteers on the Board who can commit to 1-2 years.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
