Event Coordination & Support
Avon DescentWe are seeking a volunteer to work closely with the Event manager to arrange, coordinate, and implement the 2021 Avon Descent event days.
Key aspects of this task are: • Liaising with event stakeholders, councils, media and volunteer groups • Managing secondary events, such as sponsor functions, event sign-ins, community activities and various promotional elements. • Have some experience either in events or in a marketing or social media capacity • Have a driver's license for attendance of key meetings and event days
It is expected that you will be available a minimum of one day per week through to the end of August. This will include being available over the 2021 Avon Descent media launch on 1 August and main weekend 14-15 August

About the Avon Descent
The Avon Descent is one of Western Australia’s longest running and most beloved sporting and community events attracting local, national and international competitors to compete in a series of powercraft and paddling races on the Avon and Swan rivers alongside a host of free community festivals.
We have a long and intimate history with volunteering with over 99% of its organising teams consisting of volunteers. Over its 49 year history, Northam’s Avon Descent association has engaged thousands of volunteers and hundreds of different volunteer groups to deliver our events.
