Volunteer position (unpaid) for a not-for-profit organisation.

A volunteer is required to work in a Dementia Home with "Montessori" activities to assist staff in the lifestyle and leisure program which relates to residents with dementia.

Skills required for this job include the ability to work with people who have dementia under the supervision of the Diversional Therapist and be able to work with minimal supervision and in a team.

Skills to be gained from this job include experience in working in aged care which is dementia related.

Preferred volunteer characteristics for this position are the ability to show understanding and respect for the needs of people with dementia.
