This well regarded not for profit organisation provides secondary school education for students from Years 9 to 12 who cannot thrive in mainstream education. (Waranara School).

Students who attend the school have access to intensive, ongoing learning support from specialist teachers supported by a team of counsellors who are on-site to assist with mental health and behavioral challenges.

Students are provided with the opportunity to achieve the Record of School Achievement (Year 10) and can progress on to an HSC (year 12). The following volunteers are required:

There are 30 students in Year 9 & 10 and 30 in Year 11 and 12. Assistance is required in the classroom Mondays to Fridays 9.00am to 2.00pm (years 9 and 10) 9.00am to 3.00pm (Years 11 and 12) in school term times, and there are some students who have low levels of literacy and numeracy who need extra support.

The volunteer will offer support to the classroom teacher and is ideally a retired teacher or someone with some teaching/tutoring experience, however interested volunteers who are very patient and empathetic to the specific needs of the students are more than welcome.

Volunteers will be working in a COVID safe environment.
