Fishing Volunteer - Perth Northern Suburbs
FishabilityFishing is one of the most popular recreational activities in Australia. Until recently this activity has been difficult, if not impossible for many people with disabilities.
As a volunteer in this position you will help people with disabilities experience the fun of fishing, by: • Giving practical assistance to participants - setting up fishing gear, baiting and casting a line, and catch care; • Showing an awareness of current rules and regulations regarding recreational fishing; • Developing relationships with participants to enhance their self-esteem, life skills, awareness of the environment and experience a quality outdoor activity;
Volunteers are not expected to assist with personal care of participants as professional carers accompany all participants.
Uniforms, training and social events are provided to all volunteers.
