Community Visiting Scheme - Male Social Support Volunteers Western Sydney

Catholic Healthcare
Logo for Catholic Healthcare

As part of the federally funded Community Visiting Scheme; compassionate, caring and friendly male volunteers are needed to visit with male residents in an aged care facility who may be socially isolated and/or lonely.  The program will operate via phone in response to COVID-19 and when Lockdowns are lifted it will convert to a face to face visit. It is purely about social interaction and connection so as to provide some joy and pleasure to a lonely person's life. A commitment of at least 1 hour a fortnight is needed on an ongoing basis so a rapport and trust can be developed between the visitor and the resident. The role is very flexible and no set time or day is needed, as long as a fortnightly visit can be met. Individuals who are willing to give a little bit of their time in conversation, have a wonderful sense of humour, who are reliable, strong in character, have good English speaking skills and have a positive attitude for life are encouraged to apply. Volunteers with own transport would be much appreciated.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
