Driver, Forklift & Warehouse Assistant - Whyalla

Foodbank SA seek a number of volunteers in the Whyalla area to assist our Warehouse Depot Manager with Warehouse duties & driving - delivering and collecting Food items throughout the region.

Successful volunteers will assist in the functionality of the warehouse including sorting & distribution of stock to various welfare organisations & schools within the region.

Ability to work one or more days on a Monday 10 to 2pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday between 8.30 am and 3.00 pm.

Requirements

Driver's Licence (C)

Willingness or experience working in a warehouse or food related environment. Competent Driver with ability or willingness to drive a Van (standard drivers licence required) long distances if required. Fork Lift licence a definite bonus Manual handing Customer Service – dealing with welfare agencies in the region Assist in the general tidiness and up keep of warehouse. A ‘can do’ attitude with a thoughtful and understanding nature. National Police Clearance working with vulnerable groups is essential or willingness to obtain on (we can assist if necessary). Familiarise yourself with the most up-to-date requirements and advice from the Australian and NT and SA State Governments. * As each organisation provides different levels/types of insurance, volunteers are reminded to check with the organisation as to the type of insurance provided for volunteers (e.g. Volunteer Personal Accident Insurance). * Best practice volunteer involvement recommends that a volunteer role should not be more than 15-16 hours per week.
