Miracle Babies Foundation is Australia's leading organisation that supports premature and sick newborns, their families and the hospitals that care for them.
NurtureTime in-hospital support is facilitated by caring parents who themselves have experienced the birth of premature or sick newborn.
Our valuable NurtureTime Volunteers provide peer support, guidance and hope within the premises of approved hospitals, for families that have babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Special Care Nursery (SCN). Our in-hospital parent support sessions operate within NICU’s around Australia.
- To be eligible for this role you must have experienced having a baby in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Special Care Nursery (SCN).
As a NurtureTime Volunteer you will visit Fiona Stanley Hospital to offer comforting, emotional support, guidance and hope. Our NurtureTime Program can be held in a group close and suitable to the NICU or in individual support by the cot side or in a quiet area. We are seeking volunteers who are committed to volunteering Wednesday fortnightly for 2- 3 hours.
Parents, family and friends can ask you questions, whilst you provide them the opportunity to share their thoughts, feelings’ and journey with you, knowing that you have also experienced a premature or sick newborn.
You will undertake both, Miracle Babies Foundation and Fiona Stanley Hospital volunteer on boarding process before being eligible to provide NurtureTime’s in-hospital support. This will include interviews, screening and orientation by both Miracle Babies Foundation and the King Edward Memorial Hospital.
Please only apply, if you have experienced your baby in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Special Care Nursery (SCN) , you are a people person, empathetic, and love making a difference - we would love to hear from you!
