The CVS Coordinators match volunteers to recipients with similar interests to create long-lasting friendships and companionship. We are in need of more volunteers living in the South-West Metropolitan area.

Visits could entail interests shared between the volunteer and recipient, such as having a cup of coffee or tea and chatting, playing a board game or going to the park. These visits do not entail providing care such as showering, toileting or giving medications. They are only to provide friendship and companionship.

Volunteering as a community visitor can be a rewarding experience. By befriending an elderly person, volunteers have a chance to make a positive difference in the recipient's life, as well as their own.

Volunteers can visit at any time suitable to themselves and the recipient. We ask that volunteers try to visit each at least once a fortnight for 1 hour. As an appreciation, Volunteers will receive reimbursement for Kilometres travelled with the client and a $12 allowance per visit for coffee etc.
