~ Do you want to make a difference in the lives of people with a mental illness or disability? ~ Are you interested in a volunteering opportunity that is a statutory three year appointment by the Governor and also personally challenging and rewarding? ~ Do you know someone who you think would be interested in this role? ~ People with lived experience of mental illness or disability are encouraged to apply.

The Community Visitor Scheme is seeking volunteers who are passionate about protecting the rights of people with a mental illness or disability and improving the care and treatment provided to them whilst in hospital or living in disability accommodation or Supported Residential Facilities (SRF's), or attending Day Options programs .

The Community Visitor Scheme is your opportunity to provide much needed support and advocacy to people with a mental illness or disability. Relevant training and ongoing support, including financial support, is provided to all volunteers appointed to the role.

Opportunities available at various Mental Health Treatment Centres, Disability Accommodation and SRF's located in the Adelaide CBD.
