  • To be eligible to become a Miracle Babies NurtureTime Volunteer, your baby must have been an inpatient in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Special Care Nursery (SCN) and you will need to be available for the vacant monthly shift at The Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Tuesday’s monthly between 1.00pm – 2.00pm.

Miracle Babies Foundation is Australia's leading organisation that supports premature and sick newborns, their families and the hospitals that care for them.

NurtureTime in-hospital support is facilitated by caring parents who themselves have experienced the birth of premature or sick newborn.

Our valuable NurtureTime Volunteers visit the hospital to provide peer support, guidance and hope within the premises of approved hospitals, for families that have babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Special Care Nursery (SCN). Parents, family and friends can ask you questions, whilst you provide them the opportunity to share their thoughts, feelings’ and journey with you, knowing that you have also experienced a premature or sick newborn. Our in-hospital parent support sessions operate within NICU’s around Australia.

Our NurtureTime Program can be held in a group setting in a morning tea style, close and suitable to the NICU or in individual support by the cot side or in a quiet area – This is dependent on the arrangement with the hospital. We are seeking volunteers who are committed to volunteer monthly for approx. 2 hours.

You will undertake training from both Miracle Babies Foundation and The Women’s and Children’s Hospital before being eligible to provide in-hospital support. This will include interviews, screening and training (online and mandatory).

Please only apply, if you have experienced your baby in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Special Care Nursery (SCN), able to commit to the vacant below shift, you are a people person, empathetic, and love making a difference.

The Women’s and Children’s Hospital: Tuesday’s monthly between 1.00pm – 2.00pm.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
