Transport Assistant- Banksia Frankston
Brotherhood of St. LaurenceREPORTING TO: Banksia Program Coordinator LOCATION: Banksia Frankston HOURS: 8.30 a.m. to 10.00 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. DATE: Mondays and Fridays ongoing
Banksia Day Programs provide social support for older people and those with a disability who are experiencing social isolation. The program offers leisure programs that promote friendship and personal development.
Duties include:
- Assist passengers into the bus
- Escort passengers to and from their home as stated in the Banksia Transport Procedure
- Assist passengers with their seat belts as required
- Assist the Driver to load walkers and wheelchairs into the bus
- Assist passengers to alight from the bus and escort passengers to the Centre
- Answer mobile telephone and relay information to the Bus Driver.
Requirements:
- A genuine commitment and interest in working with the elderly
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work well with others and take instruction
- Understanding of and commitment to the values and ideals of the BSL
- Willingness to undergo and obtain a satisfactory police check.
