Sailabilty operate out of Kogarah Bay and allow disabled young people an opportunity to experience sailing under their guidance.
They operate every 2nd Saturday and also Wednesday (during school term) and need to have a steady stream of volunteers to help with 20+ clients each day so are in need of more volunteers to assist in many ways.
Even if you can't sail but would like to learn - they will teach you! They will 'buddy' you with someone for a while as well.
The boats themselves are of a special design, extremely safe & you sit in beside the passenger & they are easy to sail with very limited physical exertion required, but give a lot of personal satisfaction to both the client & the helper/volunteer.
Land 'lubbers' can help with winching the disabled young people on and off the boats (lifter is used), help putting floatation jackets on people and many other jobs that are required.
This organisation cannot do the work they do without the aid of volunteers.
