Have you experienced having a baby in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit or Special Care Nursery? Would you like to support parents and families that are in a similar situation?

As a Nurture Time Volunteer you would provide peer support, guidance and hope, within the hospital, for families that have babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Special Care Nursery (SCN).

You role will be to visit families in the hospital and offer comforting, emotional support. This may be in a group setting or as individual support. Parents, family and friends can ask you questions, whilst you provide them the opportunity to share their thoughts, feelings and journey with you, knowing that you have also experienced a premature or sick newborn.

Experience of having a baby in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit or Special Care Nursery, as a parent, is essential criteria for this role. You must also be willing and able to support others experiencing a premature or sick newborn, whilst being empathic and sensitive.

If you would like to Volunteer for this very special and vital organisation, we would love to hear from you.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
