A community visit might include having a chat over a cup of tea, possibly helping to read if your older person has a visual impairment or completing a range of different mentally stimulating activities.

It is a social visit designed to reduce the effects of loneliness. Our volunteer roles involve NO PERSONAL CARE. This means that you are not required to provide domestic assistance, nursing, prepare meals etc.

We currently have positions available in Concord and are seeking volunteers who can speak either English, Greek or Italian.

Essential Criteria

• Enjoys spending time with older people
• Good communication skills
• Reliable and dedicated to maintaining monthly contact with IWNA
• Able to commit to fortnightly volunteering for a least 1 year
• Willingness to attend training
• Willingness to undergo a Criminal History Check
