Are you passionate about helping others? Do you have some time to spare on a regular but flexible basis? We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our friendly team. The St Vincent de Paul Society operates over 100 Centres of Charity (“Vinnies”) throughout Victoria. The prime purpose of every Centre, is to provide funds (to the Society) to carry out charitable works in their immediate local community and to assist those in need with clothing, furniture and other essential goods. Volunteers are the very heart of the Society and are an essential part of our work.

We are looking for volunteers (unpaid) with enthusiasm and energy to work with an experienced Customer Service Representative (driver) for hours to be mutually agreed upon.

This role includes but is not exclusive to: • Collecting donations from households and delivering welfare. • Interacting with clients and customers on a regular basis. • Interacting with Centre Managers and other staff to assist with the positioning of collected furniture • Manual handling of items from truck to Centre and vice versa.

Please note: The ability to undertake manual handling is essential in this role, as is a welcoming personality and an understanding of the ethos of the Society.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain personal satisfaction from making a positive contribution to St Vincent de Paul Society, as well as to learn new skills. If you are a jobseeker, you will benefit from gaining experience in a professional retail environment.

If you are interested in joining this major not-for-profit, please contact the Centre Manager on 9568 1034.

Please note volunteer positions are subject to a police records check.

We value diversity and aim to build an inclusive environment that champions, embraces and respects differences.

We support and encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and people of all abilities, cultures, sexual orientations, and gender identities and expressions.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
