Volunteers to support people attending some of the metropolitan and suburban courts in Melbourne are required. This is a non legal service and is not suitable for those currently studying or practising law. If you want to work with a committed team of volunteers based in our law courts, providing a high level community information, support and referral service, please consider this role. We are seeking volunteers who can commit to one day a week to support vulnerable people from diverse backgrounds. There are 2 or 3 intakes a year however expressions of interest are taken throughout the year. If your initial application is successful, you will be invited to attend an information and participation session. This is followed by an interview if you are considered a good fit for the available roles. The Training Program runs for 18 weeks, including mentoring. Supervision and support is provided by skilled community services and volunteer management staff. Police Check and a Working With Children Check required.
