Compulsory 2 day training course. Next training in Burwood Sat 30 and Sun 31 March 2019. Training is free $25 fee charged for manual, volunteers are expected to become a member (cost $30, subsidised for pensioners).
This organisation which provides important help to the community is seeking reliable, empathetic volunteers with excellent English skills who like to work from home and are willing to make a long term commitment.
This helpline provides support to the families of those affected by drugs. Volunteers with good listening skills required for telephone support to take calls on National helpline. Shifts will be allocated to volunteers in advance to suit availability. The phone line will be diverted to the volunteer`s home phone line or you may attend the office in Leura to take calls on the overflow line. No counselling experience is required, but good listening skills are essential as well as an excellent command of spoken English.
All volunteers are required to be over 21 years old and have a landline - calls cannot be diverted to a mobile.
