The Salvation Army Adelaide Doorways team is looking for a highly motivated volunteer to assist with contacting people face-to-face and by phone to discuss budgeting and to assist with the process of applying for a microfinance loan. The Salvos No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS) provides interest free loans to low income earners to assist with purchasing essential items and services. NILS not only aims to eliminate current financial burdens, but also assist individuals reach financial independence.

The NILS Loan Application Support Assistant will assist the process applications forms from potential clients, discuss budgeting and analyse bank statements. This role would suit someone with great communication skills and a desire to assist their community.

A background in banking, finance or financial counselling would be advantageous but not essential as training is provided. Student placements also welcomed.

A regular commitment of one or two days per week ongoing is desirable.

Background checks and integrity checks will be a requirement of this role.

Tasks include:

• Assisting potential NILS clients complete application form • Assisting in gathering required documents • Forward applications for processing
