The Salvation Army Cranbourne Corps is a thriving church which is heavily active in the local community providing a place for worship, services and programs. We're looking for a cheerful and responsible volunteer Driver's Assistant who loves helping others.

About The Role

This volunteer role facilitates the collection of fruit and vegetables from supermarkets and farms in the local area. Fresh fruit and vegetables are vital in ensuring The Salvation Army Cranbourne Corps has a balanced and healthy range of food on offer for those experiencing hardship and crisis. This role is ideal for those who are organised and keen to help people in their time of need. This is your chance to make a real difference to the lives of our most disadvantaged with the desired outcome of safe transportation of goods to/from The Salvation Army Cranbourne Corps.

Attention to safety, reliability and ensuring the vehicle is kept clean and in good condition are a must.

The Volunteer Driver Role Requires

• Ability to lift donated goods into and out of The Salvation Army Cranbourne Corps van safely
• Cleaning of vehicle
• Punctuality and reliability
• Good interpersonal skills and willingness to work with people from a diversity of backgrounds
• Ability and willingness to work in a small team
• A willingness to work within the ethos and values of The Salvation Army

Mandatory Requirements Of The Role

• Complete The Salvation Army volunteer registration, induction modules and any other training as required (e.g. Child safe organisation induction).
• Integrity checks as required for the role - Police Check, Working With Children's Check.
• A reasonable level of fitness is required to perform the inherent requirements of this role.

Time Commitment

• Required for Tuesday or Thursday, 7am - 11am (approx.) with the ability to act as a fill-in for other days if required.
• Please advise your preference of day in 'availability' with your expression of interest.
