The role includes:

• Welcoming visitors to Ellis House and letting them know about the history of the house, the exhibition and the artist(s), and other events and classes going on at Ellis House.
• Answering the telephone.
• Taking sales of artworks, including using EFTPOS machine and writing receipts.
• Helping to set up at exhibition openings and handing round food and drinks.
• Helping to receive paintings when delivered for exhibitions.
• Taking applications and payment for new members.
• Help with general tidiness of the house and surrounds.
• Help with opening and closing Ellis House. There will always be at least one other volunteer present. Basic training and guidance will be provided (there is also a handbook with guidance).
