As a Customer Concierge volunteer, you will be providing essential support to our busy RSPCA NSW Centre, providing directions and guidance whilst our facility is undergoing construction as well as being part of our opening team when our brand new RSPCA NSW adoption centre and conference facilities open in early 2021.

By volunteering in this role, you will be the smiling face of the RSPCA NSW Sydney team greeting all our customers as they come in to find the newest member of their family. Lots of cuddles with puppies, kittens and the not-so-small dogs and cats will be provided so you can gain first-hand knowledge of how RSPCA NSW ensures our animals find their Forever Home.

What this volunteer role looks like:

Daily tasks are nominated by our Animal Operations team, but generally include:

  • Providing general advice, accurate directions and assistance to our customers visiting RSPCA NSW’s Sydney facility
  • Advising our customers about where to go for their enquiry, where animals are located and other general enquiries
  • Monitor and report any maintenance requirements to the Facilities Team, making sure our facility is the safest place for all our customers, volunteers and staff
  • Comply with all Work Health and Safety (WHS) guidelines
  • Understand and comply with RSPCA NSW policies and procedures, including the Confidentiality Agreement

What we require from you:

  • At least 18 years old
  • Previous experience in customer service or retail highly regarded and welcomed
  • Clear and accurate communication skills *Enjoy interacting with people
  • Physical ability to lift 10kg
  • Ability to follow direction, work within a team and individually
  • Positive and professional attitude
