The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre are advertising this role on behalf of JoCare.

Are you looking for an opportunity to support residents living in aged care during this pandemic and beyond? So many living in aged care are facing isolation and boredom, with visits from family and friends restricted, and volunteers not permitted to attend in person.
Together with Arcare, JoCare has created an opportunity for volunteers to contribute reading material to lift the spirits of aged care residents. Our fortnightly bulletin containing jokes, trivia, Memory lane topics and topical pieces designed to keep them inspired an motivated.

This is an opportunity for people of all ages and stages, who are interested in joining a dynamic and creative team that is united by a heart to bring support and companionship, through the gift of words. We are looking for volunteers who would like to contribute short written pieces of interest to an older group of people. This volunteer program will continue beyond the pandemic as the residents enjoy reading the articles provided by generous volunteers. Commitment is fortnightly, word length of article about 150-200 words. Example of topics: World chocolate/cheese day, Spring flowers, films of the 40's, my favourite book/author, history of computers. This is a remote volunteering position.

Note: You will need to be a resident of Victoria to express interest in this role and over the age of eighteen.
