The Mater Private Hospital Townsville is a not-for-profit Catholic hospital inspired by the legacy of Catherine McAuley and the vision of the Sisters of Mercy. Our dedicated group of volunteers are committed to enhancing the hospital experience for patients and their families and in doing so contribute their unique skills and life experience across all areas of the organisation.

Way-finding: welcoming patients and visitors; assisting them to find their way throughout the hospital.

Driver: transporting discharged patients and rehabilitation patients to and from the hospital.

Our Volunteers are a multicultural group from diverse social and professional backgrounds. We will work with you to find a role that suits you and also meets the needs of Mater.

It is an opportunity to meet new people, provide companionship to others, add to the community benefit of the Mater and to inspire others to carry on the legacy of hospitality and healing handed down to us from the Sisters of Mercy.
