Community Support Worker-Interviewer

    Currently the centre is open Monday and Fridays 11am-3pm Wednesdays 9.30am-12.30pm. These times may vary in the future if the centre opens Tuesday and Thursdays.

    Community Support worker training will be given. Training will be ongoing.

  • Requirements

    You will need to have:-
    -Good English language skills both written and oral.
    -Good listening skills and an open minded attitude.
    -The ability to assess clients according to eligibility criteria.
    -Experience in the welfare or related fields would be useful
    -Computer skills would be an advantage.

Box Hill Community Information and Support Centre assists people experiencing personal and financial difficulties by providing information, referral and support services including Emergency Relief.

We are looking for community service workers to help us with interviewing, assessing and assisting clients.

As an interviewer you will meet with individual clients to assess their eligibility for support as well as their needs. Not all applicants can be approved

In consultation with with the client, you will determine what type of assistance is required. Assistance may be food parcels or vouchers or help with costs such as utilities.

Interviewers complete the relevant paperwork regarding the client and distribute the assistance as required. Sometimes clients are referred to other agencies for support.
