Purpose of the Role The Salvation Army Thrift Shop has an important role in raising much needed funds to enable The Salvation Army to serve the needs of the local community, whilst providing an environment where customers and volunteers alike are treated with the dignity and respect reflected in the values and mission of The Salvation Army.

The Electrical Test and Tagger role is responsible for carrying out tests on and inspecting electrical goods to ensure they are functioning and safe for customers to purchase. The Castlemaine Thrift Shop is seeking expressions of interest for a person to be able to perform this essential task.Test and tag training will be provided to the successful candidate to be able to carry out the duties of this important role.

Tasks will involve inspecting, testing and tagging electrical items to current Australian AS/NZ Standards, including safely testing items with a Portable Appliance Tester and following procedure with items to be repaired or disposed of if deemed unusable. Adhering to Health and Safety of self and others is vital and training in  Salvation Army Standards will be provided.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements for the Role • Test and Tag qualifications from a Registered Training Organisation or we will provide training for you.

Mandatory Requirements of the Role • Fully complete the TSA mission volunteer induction, training and registration process • Complete integrity checks as required by TSA

Time and Roster Commitment • Regular, on-going (flexible hours as agreed with manager) one or two days per week. Please advise availability and experience (if any) in your expression of interest.
