During these challenging times we need volunteers more than ever, to support isolated people in our community to feel socially connected again. If you’re a ‘people person’ and would like to make a difference to the life of someone who is socially isolated we would love to hear from you!
Jack* lives in Albion and has an interest in reading, listening to the radio, watching AFL (Bulldogs fan), doing word searches and going on day trips. Jack* would like to be connected with a volunteer who is prepared initially, to provide home visits as well as going out for walks, coffee and lunch in the future.
The best suited to support Jack* will be patient, understanding, positive, engaging and able to talk on any number of topics. You will also have the ability to support Jack* to achieve his social goals and creatively reconnect with his interests and passions. Practical communication skills and the confidence to work independently are a must. Your own vehicle will be required to transport Jack* on outings. Valid driver’s license necessary. This rewarding role will enable you to make a valuable contribution to your community and the social wellbeing of another person. Induction, ongoing supervision and opportunities for professional development provided.
