Alex Makes Meals are a group of volunteer members of the community who want to give back to the community around us and support health care workers in this time of uncertainty by providing meals for themselves and their family members. This idea from Alex is simple, yet due to the scale, we need your help to make sure the process runs smoothly to cater to as many people as possible. We are currently recruiting Volunteer Chefs Chefs will work in one of our industrial kitchens, where they will help prepare hundreds of meals a day under the instruction of the head chef/owner of the restaurant.

Chefs are encouraged to work together with other volunteer chefs to create a menu that meets the nutrition needs of health care workers as well as being delicious and creative. Chefs are free to be flexible and take advantage of the produce provided to them from donations and suppliers. Often times extras like desserts and snacks are made to lift up the spirits of health care workers as we know food not only restores people's physical energy but can also be a source of comfort and sign of emotional support from the wider community during these hard times

This is a great opportunity to network with other chefs in the industry as well as have the freedom to try new things in the context of supplying meals to a high number of people. Whilst a standardised menu is needed as long as meals utilise the supplies and produce provided anything goes, an excellent opportunity to flex those culinary ideas, skills and experience!
