Community Breakfast Program Volunteers - Darwin, NT

The Salvation Army Australia
Logo for The Salvation Army Australia

The Salvation Army (TSA) Darwin Corps is serving up breakfast and we need your help! Do you have a gift for flipping the perfect pancake? Do you consider yourself friendly and a great conversationalist? Looking for a way to get involved with your local community? This might just be the volunteer opportunity you've been looking for!

The Breakfast Program aims to provide a safe place for all Territorians to meet, receive a good breakfast and advice on various assistance available in the community. On site shower facilities are available to visitors and the representatives from Return to Country and Aboriginal Health Services can connect them in with these and other programs that are of interest to them or needed. Serving a warm and free breakfast to all, this program is key to engaging positively with the community and is a key function of the Darwin Corps.

A typical morning as a Breakfast Program Assistant involves creating a welcoming and non-judgmental dining environment, assisting with the set up, service and clean up of breakfast and being a friend and a listening ear to the attendees.  All of this takes place between 8am and 9am - just an hour of your time. Please advise your availability in your expression of interest and a team member will be in touch.

Integrity checks will be a requirement of this role. Previous experience in customer service or food preparation an asset but not essential as training will be provided.

If you have a few hours a week to spare, we'd love for you to join the team!

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
