During these challenging times we need volunteers more than ever, to support isolated people in our community to feel socially connected again. If you’re a ‘people person’ and would like to make a difference to the life of someone who is socially isolated we would love to hear from you!

Joan lives in Sunshine North and is looking for a volunteer who shares an interest in gardening, walking and going out for coffee. Support and encourage her to achieve her social goals! The best suited to support Joan will be Croatian-speaking with a positive, encouraging, patient and engaging personality. You will also have the ability to creatively reconnect her with the things she enjoys.

Practical communication skills and a willingness to share both home and community-based visits required. Outings may include going out for walk, coffee or lunch! Your own vehicle will be required to transport Joan* on outings. Valid Victorian drivers license necessary. The skills and confidence to work independently are a must. Induction, ongoing supervision and opportunities for professional development provided.

Participant's name has been altered to maintain her privacy. Interested? For further information, please contact 13 93 75 and quote PV-W-08. *Please note that during COVID-19 this role will commence over the phone, which will enable you to establish rapport and connection with Joan and enable her to remain connected to the community.
