About the role:

For older adults, a lack of access to affordable, safe, trusted and age-friendly transport is a barrier to community participation and good health. At Southern Cross Care, we are addressing this need through our Care Car program, and we are seeking volunteers to help make it a success.

We are looking for driving enthusiasts, who have a great sense of direction and know their way around Adelaide.  You may help our clients to visit their family, attend a medical appointment or simply take a trip to the beach.

All trips will be within a 10km radius of our Community Health & Wellness Centre at The Pines in North Plympton, and will be provided in our modern, safe and fully-maintained vehicles.

We are looking for multiple volunteers to cover 4-hour shifts between Monday and Friday, 8am to 4pm.

This position would best suit those who love to be around people, have clear communication skills, patience and empathy.

All volunteers require a current National Police Certificate for the Purpose of Aged Care, a current C class licence with a good driver history and evidence of the annual influenza vaccination.
