Community Fundraising Coordinator - Unley Community Worship and Community Centre

The Salvation Army Unley requires a volunteer Fundraising Coordinator to project facilitate for Christmas and Red Shield Appeal, building community connections, sourcing donations, constructing rosters and supporting volunteers to fill the positions in order to raise much needed funds to support the programs of the Community Centre. This role will provide support to the Corps Officer throughout the year, but particularly seasonally leading up to and during the Red Shield Appeal (May) and Christmas Appeal and Activities (October - December).

Key tasks include:

  • Plan team structure with local Corps Officer and identify potential groups in community that could support the fundraising events
  • Coordinate locations for Christmas and Red Shield Appeal collections
  • Use local contacts and resources to source volunteers for the team
  • Construct rosters for volunteers across all locations and communicate this to all relevant parties
  • Maintain mission volunteer records and general administration duties

To succeed in this role, you will have;

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse groups of people, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a high level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • A willingness to abide by relevant protocol such as Confidentiality Agreement and Business Dealings Agreement and others as required is highly desirable.
  • Experience and enthusiasm for organising fundraising events and people.
  • Experience in managing volunteers preferred but not essential
  • Conscientious and friendly disposition

Mandatory requirements of the role for the successful candidate;

  • Fully complete The Salvation Army's volunteer registration process.
  • Current Criminal History Check (Police Check) and integrity checks as required.
  • Complete TSA induction modules and any other training as required (e.g. Childsafe organisation induction)

Flexible hours 1-2 days per week, work at home or in the office as agreed with the Corps Officer.
