During these challenging times we need volunteers more than ever, to support isolated people in our community to feel socially connected again. If you’re a ‘people person’ and would like to make a difference to the life of someone who is socially isolated we would love to hear from you!

Betty enjoys gardening, walking her dog and reading. She lives in Glen Waverley and is looking for a volunteer to support her to achieve her social goals. The role will involve providing Betty with home-based visits to share refreshments and conversation in her garden. Visits may also involve going out for a walk or sharing other community-based activities together.

Betty is looking for a Mandarin-speaking volunteer who is outgoing, positive, open minded and loves dogs. Your own vehicle will be required to transport Betty on outings. Valid Victorian driver’s license necessary. Well-developed communication skills and the confidence to work independently are a must. Induction, ongoing supervision and opportunities for professional development provided.

Participant's name has been altered to maintain her privacy. Interested? . **Please note that during COVID-19 this role will commence over the phone, which will enable you to establish rapport and connection with Betty and enable her to stay connected to the community.
