During these challenging times we need volunteers more than ever, to support isolated people in our community to feel socially connected again. If you’re a ‘people person’ and would like to make a difference to someone’s life, we would love to hear from you!

Kate lives in Epping and is looking for someone who enjoys gardening to support and encourage her to achieve her social goals. The best suited to support Kate will be kind and patient. You will have the ability to encourage and motivate Kate* to creatively reconnect her with the things she enjoys.

Practical communication skills and a willingness to share both home and community-based visits essential. Skills in languages including Italian or Maltese would be highly regarded.

Social connection has been proven to improve quality of life, and boost mental health.

Your own vehicle will be required to transport Kate* on outings. Valid Victorian drivers license necessary. The skills and confidence to work independently are a must. Induction, ongoing supervision and opportunities for professional development provided.

*Participant's name has been altered to maintain her privacy. Interested? For further information, please contact 13 93 75 and quote CM-N-11.

*Please note that during COVID-19 this role will commence over the phone, which will enable you to establish rapport and connection with Kate and enable her to stay connected to the community.
