Volunteer Cooks for Community Meals
Mount Gravatt Community CentreThe Volunteer Cooks for Community Meals will be working as part of a small team to prepare and serve a regular free meal for the community, in the kitchen located at ‘Bernie’s Place’. This project aims to engage disadvantaged members of the community and provide a nourishing meal and social interaction opportunities, along with access to information and referrals to other appropriate services. The role may include:
- Creating a welcoming environment that is respectful and inclusive for clients experiencing disadvantage.
- Planning and development of meals in conjunction with our Food Rescue Program
- Allocating tasks amongst the volunteer team
- Liaising with MGCCI staff and volunteers around food donation supply and availability.
- Preparing and serving a weekly/fortnightly meal
