The role of the Social Visitor is vital in creating a sense of wellbeing, connection and community for our veterans and seniors. Volunteers regularly visit our residents and provide social support. We aim to match volunteers with a resident that may share a common interest, cultural or life experience, or hobby.

Main Tasks:

  • Regularly visit the allocated resident, talk to them and build relationship with them
  • Provide social support, listen and encourage them to participate in different activities if appropriate

Personal Qualities:

  • Great interpersonal skills and ability to make connections with people from different backgrounds
  • Be reliable, flexible and committed
  • Have patience, kindness and empathy for mature aged people
  • A desire to make a positive difference in someone's life
