This volunteer role gives you the opportunity to brighten the life of an older person by visiting them in their home as part of the Community Visitors Scheme run by Catholic Healthcare. The program will run via video/phone during high risk COVID 19 periods. Some volunteers will still be able to visit in-person.

As a volunteer you will commit to visiting a client a least once a fortnight for around 1-2 hours.Visits are spent doing an enjoyable activity such as going for a short walk, catching up for a coffee/tea, crafting, watching TV, discussing shared interests and/or culture. When matching with a community member we try to keep in mind your interests and availability to try and ensure you both enjoy the visits as much as each other. Sharing your time and interests with an older community member will help enhance their mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing.

To be eligible to volunteer for this role you will need to be over 18 years of age, and a National Criminal Police Check will be completed by Catholic Healthcare as part of the volunteer induction process.
