The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of Uniting (Victoria & Tasmania Ltd) - Aged and Carer Services.

Lola enjoys enjoys gardening, nurseries, cooking, listening to music and keeping up to date with current affairs. Lola is looking for a volunteer with shared interests to support her to achieve her social goals.

Lola* lives in Forest Hill and is seeking a personable, positive, honest, empathetic and open minded volunteer to support and encourage her to achieve her social goals and reconnect with her passions and interests. A love of cats is a must!

Well-developed communication skills and a willingness to participate in in-home and community-based visits are essential. Visits may involve going for a walk, seeing a movie or going out for a coffee! Your own vehicle will be required to transport Lola* on community-based outings. Valid Victorian driver’s license necessary. The skills and confidence to work independently are a must. Induction, ongoing supervision and opportunities for professional development provided.

During these challenging times we need volunteers more than ever, to support isolated people in our community to feel socially connected again. If you’re a ‘people person’ and would like to make a difference to the life of someone who is socially isolated we would love to hear from you!
