    Training and experience in animation; demonstrated ability to use film editing software; an ability to create videos based on a brief document; good interpersonal skills; a creative and innovative approach to projects; an ability to work within given timeframes; some flexibility with hours and an ability to work on a project basis; flexibility and willingness to learn new skills

Ngaarda Media offers a media platform for Indigenous and Non-indigenous people across the Pilbara to tell their stories through radio, photography and videography. It is dedicated to nurturing and keeping culture strong. Ngaarda Media presents Aboriginal culture in an inspiring and meaningful way, across all digital media, to allow more people to experience the oldest living culture on earth.

Ngaarda Media has a license to broadcast across the Pilbara and are the only Aboriginal media and broadcasting hub in the area. Ngaarda Media's aim is to inspire people to find new ways to be actively involved in the preservation, exposure, and upkeep of long-held cultural knowledge and practice. We are committed to providing job pathways to employment in media-related roles across the nation and work in a culturally sensitive manner to bring out the best in our trainees and volunteers.

Ngaarda Media is seeking volunteer assistance in video animation for a variety of projects. Indigenous and non-indigenous applicants are welcome.

The right person for this role will be flexible and able to create videos on demand, most likely two to three animated videos each year, and will have experience and some training in creating videos.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • assist in developing video concept
  • draft script and frame mock-ups for approval of Team Manager
  • create and produce final animated video (for distribution to donors via email, Youtube and social media)
  • select any necessary music or sound effects
  • report to and update Marketing and Communications Manager
