A not for profit Foundation that supports leisure, sports, recreation and fitness organisations to work within their community to help those in need, is seeking Volunteers to join their team. Due to the current COVID-19 epidemic and the changes needed to ensure the safety and wellbeing of their patrons and staff, they are looking for people to assist as COVID Safety Volunteers in their Leisure Centre, located in the Liverpool area. This is a vital role that will ensure not only the health and safety of those attending the Centre, but that the Centre can remain open and continue to provide programs and services that contribute to quality of life, health, social harmony, social connection, public welfare and community participation.

About the Role:

  • Assisting with access for patrons with additional needs
  • Assisting with access for patrons that experience a language barrier (where possible)
  • Assist staff in engaging with patrons that speak a language other than English (where possible)
  • Disinfection of high touch areas
  • Monitoring numbers of patrons in each area of the centre
  • Perform patron temperature checks and assistance with contact tracing logging
  • Monitoring bookings of spa and sauna area
  • Volunteers are required Monday-Friday between 5.30am-8.30pm and Saturday-Sunday between 7am and 3pm
  • You may be available for one or more days, or just a few hours – any time you have to give will be greatly appreciated and highly valued

About You:

  • Participate in all relevant induction and training programs
  • Only undertake duties you are authorised to perform and always operate under the direction and supervision of nominated staff
  • Understand and comply with the Organisation’s policies and procedures
  • Report directly to your supervisor, or another member of staff, any health and safety issues or potentially hazardous situations
  • Behave appropriately and courteously to all staff, clients and the public in the course of your role
  • Must have a valid Working with Children Check and National Police Check before commencement of role
  • Must be over the age of 16
