Alex Makes Meals is preparing, cooking and delivering free meals for frontline medical staff, straight to their door! As COVID-19 continues, healthcare professionals are working harder than anyone should. The last thing they should be thinking about is where their next meal is coming from.

The Head of Human Resources will be supporting the Chief Operations Officer in recruiting, developing and orienteering new volunteers, as well as other general HR duties such as dealing with complaints, dismissal, etc.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Managing a team of HR Officers and delegating individual tasks as required
• Recruiting and orienteering new volunteers with assistance from the HR Team
• Creating induction and training packs when required to help new volunteers’ transition
• Collecting qualifications and ensuring volunteers complete key paperwork
• Monitoring the development of volunteers
• Being a point of contact for any volunteer’s feedback of the organization
• Working with other departments to ensure that volunteers enjoy an inclusive and fulfilling work environment
• General HR duties including dealing with complaints, performance evaluation and dismissal
• Ensuring that all HR related policies and procedures are kept up to date

Qualifications

• Completed VCE or equivalent
• Experience in Human Resources is essential
• Personal characteristics sought after: Good work ethic, Integrity, good communication skills, drive to help those vulnerable in a crisis

Working Arrangement All individuals are engaged with Alex Makes Meals on a volunteer basis. This agreement does not constitute an employment relationship. Your participation will be entirely voluntary and Alex Makes Meals is unable to provide remuneration for any services provided by volunteers. You are free to terminate the volunteer relationship without repercussions.

Time Commitment Alex Makes Meals Pty Ltd. is a non - profit created in response to the COVID – 19 pandemic. The organization is expanding rapidly and so are its services. As such the commitment expected from applicants will vary widely and could be up to 40 hours a week. As this role is the head of a team, we would require a commitment of at least 20 hours a week.

At the moment there is no remuneration and successful applicants will be skilled volunteers. Please consider this before applying.
