Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this volunteering opportunity will align with the latest information from the DHHS Victoria with regards to social distancing, hand hygiene practices and capturing tracing information as required.

This volunteering role can be done via conferencing software (e.g. Zoom, Google Meet).

Mentees will consult with you, either individually or (preferably), in small group sessions. These sessions may take a few minutes to answer a question or they may take an hour, depending on the need.

Responsibilities include: Valuing the mentee as a business entrepreneur and supporting their business vision.
Develop & build mutual trust and respect.
Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Guide the mentees and provide business-related information and knowledge about managing a micro-business under Australian business laws and regulations.
Focus on the mentees' development as owner/operators helping them learn with and from each other.

Desirable personal skills:
Ability to communicate with people from different perspectives, backgrounds and language barriers.
Approachable, friendly and a great listener.
Flexible availability to mentor in one-to-one and/or small group settings via conferencing software.
High level of integrity in business and personal endeavours. Willingness to share personal business experience, skills and expertise.
A positive can-do attitude. Demonstrates a passion for micro-business and entrepreneurship.
Able to troubleshoot and solve problems & help others to do likewise.
Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and grow while helping others.
