Sorting and Packing Assistants - Records Archiving Project

Purpose of the role

The Salvation Army Records Archiving Management Project requires willing community and corporate volunteers to assist with sorting, indexing and destroying unwanted Employment Plus files located in Rowville. Each box contains many files and other assorted items which need to be opened and sorted and either tagged for index or destruction. The sorting enables valuable storage space to be freed up and important records securely re categorised and stored for easy reference.The Sorting and Packing Assistant role reports to the site manager. Safety and well-being of self and others is vital and there is a requirement to identify and report hazards and incidents. Most of the work is done sitting however some lifting although not heavy will be a requirement of this role. Please consider this before submitting your application.

Qualifications and experience requirements for the Role

  • None, except for a willingness to learn and assist with this project.

Mandatory requirements of the Role

  • Complete integrity checks as required, TSA is  a Childsafe organisation.
  • Fully complete The Salvation Army's volunteer induction, training and registration process.

Roster & time commitment

Hours are flexible as agreed with manager. Please advise availabilty in your expression of interest. This project is for a maximum period of 3 months duration.
