The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of Blind Sports & Recreation Victoria (BSRV).

The role of Volunteer Assistant to the CEO of BSRV primarily involves being the first point of contact for all stakeholders requiring contact or access to the CEO and will involve managing confidential information.

ASSOCIATED RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Respond in a timely manner to all contacts directed to the CEO, BSRV including telephone calls, website contact forms, emails and social media.
  • Process all enquiries and register their details in an appropriate format.
  • Maintain records as required.
  • Undertake any research as required to assist CEO with the International Blind Tennis project
  • Help to develop and maintain social media platforms if required
  • Other associated duties, as required
  • Report to CEO, BSRV verbally each week on tasks undertaken.

EXPERIENCE

  • Working knowledge of databases and MS Office required (including Excel) as well as other software programs as necessary
  • Experience working in a non-profit, disability or sporting organisation will be highly regarded
  • Experience in a previous role that required strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with a diverse range of people
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Empathy and an ability to maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality
  • Proactive approach and the ability to work without constant direction
  • Time management skills, including the ability to prioritise and manage workload
  • Have a considered appreciation of differences in culture, religion and sexual orientation, and a willingness to work respectfully and flexibly with such differences
  • Ability to work cooperatively within a team of dedicated people in a global environment
  • Support BSRV's objectives and communicate and demonstrate the values
