JCI Sydney is launching an exciting new mentoring program designed to help passionate young leaders develop their skills and knowledge to assist them when transitioning careers.

We are looking for mentors who have previously transitioned careers or have experience in helping others develop and grow to assist mentees in taking their next career step.

All mentors will have the chance to guide and prepare mentees through their transition journey and skills development, providing a sounding board and passing on valuable experiences and lessons learnt. The program offers flexibility to fit your busy schedule, with the amount of interaction dependent on you and your mentee’s needs.

Key Details:

• The program will run for 2 months, and include mentor facilitated workshops as well as individual one on one sessions
• The program will be run online - we’d love mentors from anywhere in Australia!
• We will provide a loose structure and training to guide you in your conversations with your mentee, and ensure that you both get the most out of your experience. The program is designed to be flexible so you can develop your own relationships.

About you:

• Have background knowledge or experience in transitioning careers or experience in helping others develop skills in a relevant field
• Value developing long-term connections with fellow mentees and mentors

• Willing and able to commit to 1-2 hours per week over the 2 month period

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Will the program be paid?

The program is voluntary. However, there will be a gift for all mentors for program completion.

2. Are there costs for participating mentors? There will be no financial costs involved for mentors. Of course, your time and effort in forming relationships and mentoring is valuable and appreciated.

3. What happens after I apply? Applications will be open until late July. All applications will be reviewed by our team and we will then contact you in the fortnight after regarding your application. An online training session will be provided for mentors prior to the program commencing in August.

4. If I apply is it guaranteed that I will be part of the program? We will aim to match mentees with mentors who best match their development needs and goals. This may mean that we don’t have the right mentee for you this program, but we’d love to contact you for future versions.
