Grant Writer (Volunteer)
Furry Friends Animal Rescue QLDWe are seeking applications for experienced Grant Writers to research potential funding opportunities and prepare, develop and write complex grant applications
As a Grant Writer you will be responsible for:
- Researching potential funding opportunities and access if FFARQ meets the criteria
- Preparing, developing and writing complex grant applications and funding proposals in a timely manner
- Learning, interpreting and applying policies, laws, rules and regulations
- Maintaining current records in databases including grant tracking and reporting
- Complying with grant reporting efficiently and as required by a given grant application
- Reviewing previous grant applications and assessing potential to re-apply
- Scanning the grant landscape to identify new grant opportunities and the eligibility of the organisation
- Liaise with key internal stakeholders to establish goals and timelines, and acquire relevant project specific, business and financial information required for application
- Maintaining ongoing communication with internal stakeholders to inform progress
- Attendance at a fortnightly meeting with the Treasury or Fundraising team
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- qualifications with a major in English, Journalism, Professional Writing, Publishing, Communications or Marketing
- Previous experience writing and compiling funding applications with successful outcomes is desired
- Ability to address selection criteria
- Experience in fundraising is desirable
- Knowledge of general acquittal processes and procedures
- Working knowledge of GMail and Google Docs
- Ability to work independently, show initiative and work cohesively within a virtual team.
